FAQs

Common questions

How do I set my alert time and timezone?
All plans — including the free Starter plan — let you choose exactly when your daily permit alert arrives. From your account Settings page, pick any delivery time (e.g. 6:00 AM, 7:30 AM, or 12:00 PM) and select your timezone from the full US timezone list. Your alert will fire at that exact local time every weekday. This means you can have fresh leads waiting before your workday starts, or timed to whenever fits your routine best.
How does the free trial work?
Every paid plan comes with a free trial. Starter gets 3 days, Pro gets 3 days, and Agency gets 3 days. A credit card is required at signup — this keeps the platform free of fake accounts and ensures only serious contractors get access. You will not be charged until your trial period ends. Cancel anytime before then and you pay nothing.
What trades does Permitlify cover?
We currently track roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, general contracting, insulation, solar, and windows/doors. Every plan — including Starter — can filter alerts by specific trade types so you only see the permits that match your business.
How fresh is the permit data?
We pull from 248+ city and county permit portals every weeknight. Alerts are processed and scored by our AI model by 4 AM local time and delivered to your inbox and/or phone by 7 AM on weekdays. Most permits reach you the same day they're filed.
What does the AI score mean?
Each permit gets a score from 0–100 based on factors like job value, trade type, property age, neighborhood income data, and permit description keywords. Scores above 80 are marked "Hot" — these are the permits most likely to result in a sale when you call within 24 hours.
Can I change plans later?
Absolutely. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your plan at any time from your account settings. When you upgrade, you're billed the prorated difference immediately. When you downgrade, the new rate takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
